Tuesday, 30 November 2010Islamabad, Dec 5 : Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has urged the United States to take action against Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz, involved in the Memo Gate scandal, and alleged that he tried to destabilise Pakistan by "telling lies."
Malik said that action would be taken against Ijaz for which a record had been sent to the legal branch of the interior ministry.
He also insisted Ijaz should be taken to court, adding that he was going to see when Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would go to courts against the American businessman.
Ijaz had earlier alleged that former Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani was involved in the memo scandal.
Meanwhile, Malik said that orders to put Haqqani's name on the Exit Control List (ECL) had been received and the process was underway.
